Satellites
Hassan N1CY and Rich KQ6YR have been very active on satellite communications and have shared this information with us. First you must determine the time of the passes of a satellite (UO14) by going to http//www.heavens-above.com or http://www.dransom.com then listen on either Santiago 448.300 or Mt. Wilson 448.440. These are private repeaters so all you can do is listen which is all you need.
If you want to join in with the communications, just transmit on 2 meter uplink frequency of 145.975 Turn the audio all the way down on the 2 meter TX frequency and turn the audio up on the UHF frequency and you will hear yourself as you transmit on 2 meters. Use an earpiece so you will not get feedback. Then you will be talking to others "on the bird!"
